It is with broken hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Larry Rowlinson, at the age of 76, at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Debbie Rowlinson (2014). Cherished father of Lauri, Jen, Shannon (Brian), Dave (Kelsey), and Amy (Chris). Devoted grandfather of Jessica, Colton, Ryder, Megan, Ella, Jack, Brodin, Everly, Bailey, Cole, Charlotte (2016), and Bennett. Proud great-grandfather of Wrenley. Dear brother of Ruth (Bryan) Chappell. Remembered by his nieces Kelly, Kim, and Tracy (2015) Chappell. Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Betty Rowlinson, and his in-laws, Jack and Eleanor Wilson. Larry was a longtime employee of Lambton College, but his favourite role was as a guidance counsellor at Manitouwadge High School. He would speak of his time in Manitouwadge and the friendships he built there often. He truly cherished time spent with his family. He had a passion for Harley-Davidsons and classic cars—especially his 1969 Stingray Corvette—and was a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan through and through. Larry had a special bond with his dog Toby, who predeceased him. Larry was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and, most recently, a great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We will forever treasure our family memories, especially our March Break vacations to Daytona Beach, our summers in Tobermory and our lunch dates at Alberts. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Bluewater Health, especially the Telemetry and Palliative Care units, for their compassionate care and support. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday April 7th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia and District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
