Peacefully at Quinte Health North Hastings Hospital in Bancroft on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. George William Milligan, age 81 of Lake St. Peter, was the beloved husband of Eilene (nee Baragar) for 56 years. Loving father of Laura of Windsor, Julie of Lake St. Peter and the late Julie Milligan-Chapman (2015).

Fond grandfather of Carol-Anne, Krystal, Laurie, Lloyd, Melissa, Leah and Alivia. Great-grandfather of 17 and Great-great Grandfather of 3.

Predeceased by his parents William and Florence (nee Battle). His siblings Betty-Jean, Shirley, Eleanor and Charles. He was also predeceased by in-laws Howard and Helen Baragar, brothers-in-law Garnet Marois, Ronnie Baragar and Raymond Lavalley.

George is survived by sister Dorothy in British Columbia. Sisters-in-law Marlene Lavalley, Sherry Driscoll, June Marois, brother-in-law Vince Baragar, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Windsor, Ontario, George worked at many area auto body shops, the longest being at Marcel’s Auto Body Shop until he and Eilene retired back to Lake St. Peter in 1994.

George was a longtime member and groomer operator of the Maple Leaf Snow Skimmers. He was a 30+ year member of the Lake St. Peter Fire Department. He and Eilene were long-time members of St. Paul’s United Church in Lake St. Peter until its closing. He attended Windsong United in Maynooth until his passing.

George’s family will receive relatives and friends at M.G. Daly Funeral Home,  200 Old Hastings Rd. Maynooth on Saturday, April 4, 2026, 2-4 p.m, 6-8 p.m. Visitation Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the ANAF (Army, Navy, Air Force) Barn, 55 ANAF Rd. Maynooth from 12:00 noon to 1 p.m.  A Funeral Service will follow at 1p.m. with the Rev. Marilyn Zehr, officiating. Cremation will follow.

Thanks and appreciation to Quinte Health North Hastings, the VONS Patti, Marie and Amy, and all who cared for him in his final months.
