Peacefully at Extendicare, Haliburton, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Brenda Rollauer (née Akester) of Harcourt passed away at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald Rollauer.
Loving mother of Lesley Barlow (Robert) and Todd Rollauer (Paula). Proud grandmother of Alyssa, Emily Laura and Sean and cherished great-grandmother of Sofia, Jacob and Keira.
Dear sister of Bonnie (Bill) and sister-in-law of Edna and Marlyn. Brenda will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephew, cousins and many friends.
Brenda was a playful and fun-loving mother and grandmother who brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. She enjoyed dancing and travelling and had a lifelong love of dogs and animals. As a child, she spent her summers with her grandparents in Hemmingford, Quebec, where her love of animals first began. Brenda later retired as a civilian employee with the Durham Regional Police Service.
Cremation has taken place, with interment to follow at Hemmingford Cemetery, Quebec.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Extendicare Haliburton for the compassionate and loving care they provided to Brenda.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward would be appreciated by the family.
May she be remembered for her joyful spirit, her love of family, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met.
