It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dan on March 10, 2026 at the Norfolk General Hospital in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Marg Tanchak for 53 wonderful years. Loving father of Tara Tanchak (the late Ben Stewart), Melanie Samborski (Jeff), and Brian Tanchak (Carolyn). Proud grandpa of Matthew, Stephanie, Kaitlynn, Peyton, Harley, Jax, and Ryker. He is survived by his sister Ruth Smith (Lyle), his mother-in-law Irma Grau (the late Otto), and sister in law Gisela Charette. He is predeceased by his siblings Mary Hunter (Roy), Marg MacKenzie (Eric), and John Tanchak (Lil). He will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
