HEIGHWAY, William John – Passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, in his 84th year.
Beloved husband of Laura (nee Graham).
Loving father of William Alan.
Cherished son of the late William Edward and the late Isobel (nee McDonald); and son-in-law to the late Olive Graham.
Dear brother of Bob (Joyce), Gordon (the late Brigitte), Charlie (Charlotte), Lorraine (the late Doug) Bentley, and the late Helen (Richard) Childs; and brother-in-law of Olive Bisio (Brent Wylie), Violet Orton, Brenda (Steve) Vincent and the late Douglas Graham.
John will be missed by many nieces and nephews. John spent 5 years in the Air Force before joining IBM, where he worked for 25 years. He was also on the Volunteer Fire Department in Unionville for 25 years.
He loved attending live theatre and he provided sound and lighting for many community theatre productions, as well as various community events.
John was Lighting Director for the Unionville Ice Show for 25 years.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 27th, at Central United Church in Unionville.
