It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearest Giuseppe (Joe) Germano. God called onto Joe on Friday, March 6, 2026 and he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Maria. Loving father of Derek (Jennifer), Daniela (Vito) and Laura. Adored Nonno of Sienna, Jack Joseph, Kendall and Leah.

Joe was born in Casignana, Reggio Calabria, Italy on January 3, 1948. He emigrated to Canada in 1972. After many years of traveling to different places, he chose Canada as the country where he would build his life with his beloved wife, Maria.

Joe was adventurous and deeply passionate about nature and the outdoors, especially hunting with his very dear friends. For Joe, food was his love language. He took great joy in preparing meals for his family and sharing them together. He also loved watching competitive sports, particularly Formula One, boxing, soccer, the Tour de France and the winter Olympics. Joe and Maria took many vacations with their children, creating wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.

At the age of 49, Joe was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, but it never stopped him from living life as fully as he could. His resilience and strength were unmatched, and admirable.

In the later years of his life, he had the joy of seeing his children marry and start families of their own. Becoming a Nonno brought him a new and profound happiness, and his grandchildren filled his life with love. We are deeply grateful for the years we shared with Joe. Though he is no longer with us, his love and the memories he gave us, will remain in our hearts always.

Joe’s legacy is one of strength, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to Family. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by his extended family and friends, both in Canada and in Italy.
