It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Agnes McColgan.

Born in Scotland, Agnes passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 27, 2026.

A devoted and loving wife, Agnes is now reunited with her beloved husband, Peter, who predeceased her.

She was a deeply cherished mother to Sonia Coward (Chris), Stephen McColgan (Elizabeth), and Lorna Pile (David). Proud and loving Nana to Kaitlin Kent (Ethan), Hailey Symington (Scott), Rachel McColgan, Alexandra McColgan, Liam Pile, and Quinn Pile. Adored Gran to her great-grandchildren, Blaire Symington and Eva Kent.

Agnes will be dearly missed by her brother William Scarff (Elizabeth), as well as her extended family and many dear friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the clinical team in the Critical Care Unit for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Agnes’s time there.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the People Parish (570 Marion Avenue, Oshawa), followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery (355 Taunton Road East, Whitby). A reception will follow at St. Mary of the People Parish Hall, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Agnes’s life.
