We announce the passing of our dear mother, Mildred Ethel Elliott at the grand age of 104. She died peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton on February 13, 2026 with family by her side. Predeceased by her husband, George (1984). Mother of Lynn Witt (Steve), Charles (Fran), James (Janice) and Keith (Jade). Lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mom was born November 23, 1921, to Charles and Alice Overholt in Wainfleet, Ontario, the youngest of three girls (Jasmine Kitchen, Margaret Green). Born and raised a hard-working farm girl, as a young adult Mildred went on to work as a bank teller in Welland.  After her marriage in 1946 she was a dedicated homemaker and tireless community volunteer with the Stoney Creek United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Red Cross. She was a talented quilter and knitter, and enjoyed square dancing, puzzles, cake decorating and time with family.

Mom lived for over 70 years in the home built by her husband in Stoney Creek. Until the very end, she tackled the daily crossword and enjoyed a competitive game of Scrabble. A long life well lived.
