It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Stewart, she passed away peacefully on February 20th 2026 in her 85 year.

Betty was a devoted mother to Margaret (Barry) and James (Louise), and loving grandmother to Deanna (Myles) and Dustin. She was predeceased by her loving husband Campbell. She was a loving sister and Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Betty was born on March 19, 1940 in Glasgow, Scotland. She married the love of her life, Campbell, whom she had two children with. They immigrated to Canada when she was 26 years old and settled in Orangeville, Ontario where they built a meaningful life together.

Betty was a joyful dancing queen – she was always the first one on the dance floor, and her happiness there was contagious. One of her favourite things was tending to her beautiful garden. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, who were her constant companions. Zara being the latest will miss her deeply. She belonged to the Seniors Centre and made many friends there. She had wonderful neighbours. Betty was a kind and generous person who made the world a little brighter for those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life for Betty will be held at a later date.

A tree will be planted in memory of Elizabeth in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
