Fred Milnes

Son of Edmund and Elsie Milnes, has gone home to the Lord that he loved, and to his wife Marion of 65 years, on Sunday, January 25, 2026. He died peacefully at home under the care of his son, David at the age of 89. He has left behind children, Robert (Rhoda), David, Kathy (Dave Stoesz) and (Sherry), grandchildren, Josiah, Rebekah (Andrew Versantvoort), Jacob, Hannah (Tim Elgersma), and Rachel (Ryan Legg); and great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Addison and Amelia. Marion and Fred’s first-born child, John has been waiting for them in heaven, where they are all now re-united.

Pastor Fred faithfully served in various United Church congregations for over four decades and informally at ValleyStream Retirement Community for a season. He will be remembered for his love of his family, baseball golf and music, his caring pastor’s heart, his passionate (loud) singing, his involvement in area wide pastors fellowships and his commitment to regular prayer for his extended family, community, country and beyond.

His Celebration of Life will be held at:

Ottawa Vineyard Church
51 Greenbank Rd, Nepean, Ontario
on Saturday, Feb 14, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 12:00PM and the Service will be held at 12:30 p.m.

A reception will follow.

For those unable to attend, the service will be recorded (link to follow).

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice on Fred’s behalf would be appreciated.
