In loving memory of Patrick Colin Bannister
Patrick Colin Bannister of Newcastle, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 3rd,
2026, surrounded by loved ones at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Born on January 11th,
1942 in Norwich, England to Jack and Irene Bannister, he was known as an animal lover;
classic car enthusiast; and for his dry wit and playful nature. Patrick was the proud owner
of Bowmanville Glass for over 45 years.
He is survived by his sons Steven, Brian and devoted daughter Colleen (Peter);
grandchildren Ashleigh (Thomas), Stephanie, Damien and Daniel; great granddaughter
Penelope (his dancing buddy); and niece Lori Horvath (Les). Patrick was preceded in death
by his former wife Barbara; siblings David Bannister and Norma Deboo; and nephew Robert
Deboo. Patrick will be dearly missed by his brother-in-law Ralph Deboo and chosen family
Jeremy and Abs.
The family invites anyone who knew Patrick to stop by The Snug, in Newcastle on February
24, 2026 from 1pm to 4pm, to share a memory or story. In lieu of flowers donations may be
made to your local SPCA, the Alzheimer Society of Canada or a charity of your choosing.
