Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at the age of 84 years. He moved to Wallaceburg in 1960. He was born in Chatham and was a son of the late Archie and Kay (Henderson) McCarthy.
Beloved husband of the late Wilma (Evans) McCarthy.
Loving father of Kevin McCarthy and Lisa (Pat) Malley. Dear grandfather “Papa” of Sarah (Kyle), Danielle (Brian), Jason (Tonya), Kyle, Devin and great grandfather of Bentley, Paisley, Wesley, Graysen, Chris, Lucas, Alexa, Payton, Tristan, Trinity and Sophia.
Kind brother of Sheila (Dallas) Suitor, Sandy (the late Joe) De Roeyevn and brother-in-law of Nadine (the late Bill) MacArthur and the late Ray (the late Donna) Sharen.
He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
For almost 30 years he worked for Libbey Glass, in Wallaceburg. He enjoyed Fishing, Camping and watching his favourite hockey team the Boston Bruins. Charlie always looked forward to having any of the grandchildren or great grandchildren come for a visit.
He is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 6-8pm. A funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11am from the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg, Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Breast Cancer or the C.N.I.B. may be left at the funeral home.
