At his home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in his 87th year. James Gilbert Brooks, beloved husband of the late Sylvia Brooks (nee Harrison) (2023). Loving brother of Murray Brooks, Christena (Charles) Schleifer and the late Laurie Brooks and brother-in-law of Diane Brooks. Uncle Gil will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Gil had a life long passion for gardening, world travel and the Arts. His pleasure from these experiences were evident as he joyfully shared his adventures at family gatherings.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Reception Celebrating Gilbert’s Life at the McCleister Funeral Home, Hospitality Suite, 495 Park Road North, Brantford on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place in the spring at Farringdon Burial Ground, Brantford. If wished, memorial donations to St. George Garden Club or the Stedman Community Hospice gratefully appreciated.
