LATER, David Earle Larter

Passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital, Newmarket, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the age of 79. He will be deeply loved and missed by his wife of 54 years, Sandra (née Carey).

As a father, David will always be remembered and cherished by Jon (Jacquie Peter), Jason (Nicky), Darryl, and Michelle Trakht (Henry). He was a devoted grandfather to Olivia, Gabrielle, Aiden, Riley, Dylan, Emma, and Natasha. David is also survived by his siblings, Bruce and Brian Larter.

David was raised in Toronto and earned his engineering degree from the University of Waterloo in 1971, establishing the foundation for a distinguished career built on integrity and hard work. He played an integral role in the start-up and foundational years of Con-Elco, leaving a lasting mark on the utility contracting industry in the process.

In addition to his career achievements, David cherished spending time on life’s everyday joys. He enjoyed coaching his children in sports, sharing the game of golf with them, and relaxing at their cottage with loved ones. His love for Sandra was profound; after meeting at Chandos Lake, they married and eventually retired there, living on the same property where their story began.

David will be remembered for his kindness, humility and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His legacy will live on through the family he raised and the lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to share memories at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge on Monday December 22, 2025 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. The family will appreciate expressions of sympathy in the form of donations to Community Care Peterborough or the Canadian Cancer Society.
