It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Clayton Carter, who died peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026; just a month shy of his 84th birthday on July 17. Donald will be remembered for his devotion to his family and to the love of his life, Maxine, who passed away in 2023. He will also be remembered for his strong sense of humour, his work ethic, and the steady way he showed up for the people he loved. He is survived by his daughter Paula (Martin) and son Matthew (Paula), and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Maxine and eldest son Michael (Alison). He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and quiet humility that will not be forgotten. In keeping with Donald’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Donations may be made to the Madoc Heart of Hastings Hospice in lieu of flowers.
