Passed away on November 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Rick was a gifted artist and craftsman whose creativity shaped both his life and his community. A talented cabinet and furniture maker, he poured his skill and heart into every piece he created. Over the years, he became well known for his sandblasted wood and hand-painted signs, spending much of his career bringing character and artistry to businesses and landmarks throughout Forest and beyond. He also loved to paint as a hobby, finding joy in colour, detail, and the quiet focus of creating something beautiful.
Rick was happiest when he was with his family. He treasured his time at the arena, watching his kids and grandkids play hockey, cheering them on with pride. He was always willing to lend a hand around town—painting, repairing, and crafting signs—quietly contributing to the place he called home.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his daughter Jordanna and son-in-law Kyle, and their children Brody, Hudson, and Piper; and his son Dalton, and Dalton’s children Charlee and Emmett. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Forest Legion on Saturday, November 29th, from 12:00–3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Forest Museum.
