She died peacefully in her sleep on June 18th, 2026, at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her children Pina (Renato), Carlo (Michele), Bruno, her grand children Marco, Bianca, Mario (Laura), Phillip, Isabella (Ivan), Laura, Michael (Kriselle), and her great-grand children Landon and Madison.
Marietta Carmela Concetta Scarpone was born on January 7th, 1933, in Roccacasale, L’Aquila Italy. She married Mario Scarpone on March 6th, 1955, and they later moved to Toronto, Canada in 1959 where they raised their 3 children. Eventually they moved on to building their dream home in Nobleton, Ontario, that housed the entire family, including a few farm animals. Her flowers were always watered, vegetable garden overflowing, and the house was sparkling clean daily. She loved to cook enough food for an army, and cookies were made for every visit or occasion.
Passion flowed through her hands, anything she touched was handled with such love and care. Her memory will live on through her family and recipes taught.
She will be deeply missed by all that were lucky enough to know her.
