It is with deep sadness that I share my beloved mother, Paula Mirabelli’s passing on Sunday, June 14, 2026. She died peacefully surrounded by her family in friends at 71 years old. Paula was the loyal wife of Frank Mirabelli who predeceased her on June 15, 2013, a devoted mother, a grandmother to JohnLuca and Marco, and a friend whose kindness touched so many.

Born on October 6, 1954 in Toronto, Canada, Paula dedicated her life to family and to serving her church. Paula showed a keen love for learning and reading from an early age. She attended Loretto College on Brunswick Avenue, Toronto from 1968 to 1972. It was at Loretto that she developed a love for mathematics which served her well in her bookkeeping profession. Throughout her business career she was hired by lawyers, doctors and engineers always using her talents to improve business and office practices. While living in Lansing, Michigan she was a parishioner at The Church of the Resurrection where she volunteered with mailings and checking on shut-ins via telephone calls to ensure that they were safe and healthy. Our home was always open to holding the meetings of various Church groups, family or social settings, these gatherings brought Paula much joy. Paula became so fond of Father Steve and loved his homilies, so much that she would frequently encourage our Canadian cousin, Kathy, to go on her computer and listen to Father Steve’s Sunday homilies.

Paula will be remembered for her warm smile, her love for family and baking and especially for her unwavering faith. During difficult times she learned to surrender all to Jesus always remembering His suffering. She loved many things but especially music, a good book, and events at The Resurrection Church and the Annual St. Ippolito Feast Day celebrations in August at Bunker Hill. Bunker Hill brought family, friends, and neighbors together to enjoy the celebration of Mass, the life story of St. Ippolito, good food, music–a beautiful day to leave behind the daily chores, frustrations, and stress.

My mother loved spending time with her family and friends, and our family dinner table was always a place of laughter and love. Paula will always be loved and never forgotten, and may her light continue to shine upon us all.
