With heavy hearts, we share that Victor passed away peacefully after a short illness on September 2nd, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at age 86.
Victor immigrated from Germany to Canada at age 21. Where he met his beloved wife Joan, with whom he just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Loving father of Roger (Janet) and Karen (Larry). A much-adored Opa of Melissa, Zachary, and Paige (Ziggy). Brother of Hanna and the late Ira and special Uncle to Brigette, Michael, Andy in Germany. Brothers-in-law to Frank, and Brian, (Margaret), and Uncle to nieces and nephews in the U.K. and longtime special friends John and Enid.
Victor’s first career in Canada was a body man, where he earned his Provincial Seal. During the mid 1980’s he began his second career as a real estate agent. Victor was also a respected and accomplished award-winning real estate agent, whose professionalism and integrity earned him the trust of clients and colleagues alike.
A man who never did anything halfway, Victor threw himself into the things he loved. Either on the ski hill or the cross-country trails, he was the one with boundless energy as an active Ski Patrol he left behind a legacy of camaraderie and community.
But above all, Victor was happiest at the family cottage on Baptiste Lake. Whether he was tinkering, sharing stories over a beer, or teaching his grandkids the “right” way to roast a marshmallow, the lake was his happy place, filled with countless memories that his family will carry forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 10-11 am at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King Street East Oshawa). A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 11 am.
