We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Michael Bond on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the age of 44. Born in Chatham, Michael was the cherished son of Linda (née MacIntosh) and the late James “Jim” Bond (2016). He will be dearly missed by his sister Laura Bond. Michael will also be missed by his extended family and friends.
Michael graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He moved to London where he had a successful career in finance at the Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank for almost 20 years. He held various positions including working in the U.S. Stock Market as well as in Canadian Enterprise Real Estate.
Michael had many good memories of growing up in Chatham, where he spent several years playing travel hockey. He had a gift of music, and was the lead guitarist in the popular local band Slipstream, throughout his high school years.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 463 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00pm. Vigil Prayers will be shared at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Michael to the Thames Valley Mental Health Services.
