It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donald Joseph Robert on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the age of 91.

Don lived a life defined by devotion to family, dedication to public service, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many through his kindness, integrity, and quiet strength.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Elsie Robert (née Hughes); his son, Stephen Robert (Sandra); and his daughter, Lee-Anne Blum (Rob). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Chelsea Robert, Madison Robert, Paige Robert, Matthew Blum, and Hannah Blum, all of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride throughout his life.

He is also survived by his sister, Joan Robert, and his brother, Brian Robert (Ginette), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Don dedicated 35 years of service to the Government of Canada, where he built a respected career serving his country with professionalism, commitment, and integrity. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he formed throughout his career.

Beyond his professional life, Don had a deep appreciation for the arts. He was a talented artist whose creativity and attention to detail were evident in his work. He found joy in painting and drawing, often sharing his artistic gifts with family and friends. He was also an avid movie enthusiast and loved spending evenings enjoying classic films, sharing recommendations, and discussing memorable performances and stories.

Above all else, Don cherished time with his family. Whether celebrating milestones, sharing holiday gatherings, or simply enjoying everyday moments together, family was always at the center of his life. His wisdom, gentle humour, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew him.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Divine Infant Parish, 6658 Bilberry Drive, Orléans, Ontario K1C 2S9, on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time.

Though deeply missed, Don’s legacy of love, faith, creativity, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May he rest in eternal peace.
