Passed away on August 4th, 2026 at the age of 80 in Cambridge, Ontario.

Christopher Robin Bryant was born in Wortwell, Norfolk, England and, after earning a PhD at the London School of Economics, decided to immigrate to Canada where he enjoyed a long career as a dedicated professor of geography and economic development at the University of Waterloo and Université de Montréal. He loved to help his students and share his passion for sustainable agriculture and community development in Canada and many countries around the world. He was a devoted family man who also loved the simple aspects of life like going for walks with the family dog.

He is survived by his wife, Brigitte, of 59 years, his children Stephanie (Randy) and Anthony (Kristin) and his five grandchildren. Christopher is remembered with love by his brother Errol, and many other extended family members, friends and colleagues.

Christopher is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Georgina Bryant and his brother Patrick Bryant.

Arrangements for a celebration of life are being planned and will be published once finalized.

As an expression of sympathy and in honour of Christopher’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada and Fairview Seniors Community in Cambridge would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
