SCHIECK, Stanley Edward Schieck

He, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2026, at the age of 89.

Left to hold him dear to their hearts are those he loved most, including his wife of 68 years, Margrit Schieck; children David Schieck (Cindy Adams), Barbara (John) Prescott, and Jeremy Schieck; grandchildren Camille Adams (Logan), Kalim Schieck (Catherine), Charlotte Adams, James (Janika) Prescott, and Miranda (Michael) Anderson; and great-grandchildren Elodie, Chloe, Elias, and Bjorn.

Stanley Edward Schieck was born on June 7, 1936, in Wainwright, Alberta to Theodore and Myra (née Firestone) Schieck. Known for his great sense of humour and larger-than-life personality, Stan was truly a character who could make anyone smile. He was a generous man, always willing to lend a hand or give what he could to others, and his dedication to his church and faith was a steady and guiding presence throughout his life.

Stan had a deep love for the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and hunting, passions he carried well into his 70s as an avid hunter. He was a hardworking man who believed in building something of his own, starting a business at the age of 62 and continuing to work until his retirement at 82. In quieter moments, he enjoyed playing cards, as well as Farkle, and sharing laughter with those around him.

Above all, Stan loved his family deeply and took great pride in the life he built with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Viewing will be held on FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2026, at 9:45 AM, located at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. 

A Graveside Service will follow the viewing at 11:00 AM, located at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, 1991 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC.

A Memorial Service will follow the burial at 1:00 PM, located at Springfield Funeral Home, with Pastor Phil officiating, and a reception to follow. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view in 3-5 days.
