BUCHANAN, Kodey Buchanan

Passed away peacefully at Chapman House on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Born in Wiarton on December 25, 1978, Kodey William Buchanan of Owen Sound was in his 48th year.

Beloved husband of Melissa Harvey of Owen Sound. Devoted father of Katelin (Dylan), loving stepfather of Summer, and proud step-grandfather of Charlie. Cherished son of Pamela Stewart. Much loved brother of Kevan (Danielle), Kelsey (Justin), and Dan (Emma). Beloved son-in-law of Bob Harvey, and April Harvey (David). Dear brother-in-law of Paul Harvey (Lindsay). Kodey was a proud dog dad to Milo and Cooper, and will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends.

Predeceased by his father Bruce Buchanan.

Kodey spent his life touching the hearts of countless people through his generosity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others. A lifelong resident of the Owen Sound area, Kodey built a reputation for his altruistic spirit and dedication to his community. He was a former President of the Lake Huron Fishing Club and the founder of Steel Dreams Fishing Club, organizations through which he combined his love of fishing with his passion for helping others.

Through Steel Dreams, Kodey organized numerous fishing tournaments and fundraising events, raising money and providing support to many charitable causes over the years. His generosity and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impact on countless individuals and families.

Kodey was also a valued employee of Bruce Power, where he was respected by colleagues for his work ethic, integrity, and friendship. Whether on the water, with family and friends, or serving his community, Kodey lived with a generous heart and a desire to make life better for others. His kindness, strength, and compassion created a legacy that will endure in the lives of all who knew and loved him. He will always be remembered for the difference he made, the friendships he cherished, and the love he shared so freely.

Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Kodey’s life will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
