Suddenly at his home on Saturday August 1st, 2026 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Marlene Funston (nee Carlson). Loving father of Dale, Derek (Emily) and Brittany. Cherished grandfather of Isaiah. Dear brother of Jeff, Cheri and the late Marilou and brother-in-law of Dawn, John, Ward, Scott and Charles. Also fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Doug at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 388 William St., Cobourg on Wednesday August 12th, 2026 at 11 am. , there will be visiting from 10:30 am – 11 am. Following the service everyone is welcome to join the family for a reception in the church hall. Interment in Cobourg Union Cemetery at 2 pm. If desired donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or MS Society.
