PARKES, William “Bill” Parkes

Passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Saturday afternoon, July 25, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Charlotte Parkes , sisters, Ruby, Edna and Gladys, and his beloved wife of 47 years, Shirley (Dalgleish) Parkes. He will be greatly missed by his cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a talented musician with a great sense of humour. He played in local dance bands for many years. He worked at Westinghouse for 40 years. Once retired he  demonstrated his passion for photography as he and his wife Shirley travelled at home and abroad.

Bill and Shirley faithfully attended Bethel Gospel Tabernacle for many years. When he was no longer able to drive, they attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church on the property.

Deep gratitude and thanks go to the staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home who cared for Bill for the last few years with such kindness, honour and respect.

Visitation will be 9:00 -10:00 a.m. Friday July 31, 2026 at Heritage Green Seventh Day Adventist Church at 349 Isaac Brock Drive, Stoney Creek.

Celebration of life will begin there at 10:00 a.m. followed by a small reception.

Interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton.
