TINNEY, John Francis Tinney
October 10, 1936 - July 4, 2026
His 90th year was the loving and devoted husband to Phyllis (Isaac) for 70 years. Celebrating their 70th anniversary on July 7, 2026.
Cherished father to Douglas (Sandra), Brian (Adriana), Carmen (Pam), Kevin (Ann Marie) and Paul (Kelly).
John Francis Tinney was the son of the late Francis & Lillian (Prentice) Tinney.
He was the best Grampa to Michelle (Kris), Nicole (Allen), Brandon (Anny), Ellie (Matthew), Cora (Clay), Gillian, Cassandra (Kris), Marissa (Kyle), Chelsea (Mike), Matthew (Olivia) and the late Rebecca.
Loving Great Grampa to Katie-Grace, Anne, Maddison, Ty, Arleigh, Autumn, Lila & Theodore.
Brother of Bob Tinney (late Dorthea) and Donald Tinney. Predeceased by Doris (Ron) Buttar, Charlie Tinney (Gloria) and Marie Maughan.
Brother-in-law to Marie Staples (late John). Predeceased by Donald Isaac (Lillian), Orville Isaac (Adele).
John will be missed by many nieces and nephews, and by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
John was a hardworking and dedicated man who took pride in owning and operating his own construction company, John Tinney Construction, for 22 years. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft were reflected in everything he did. Outside of work, John had a deep passion for Percheron horses, enjoying the time spent caring for, working with and showing these magnificent animals at local fairs, namely Bell and Flicka. His love of horses and the farming community brought him great joy and created many cherished memories throughout his life and his families lives.

Family and friends are invited to the Interment at Pioneer Cemetery, Cold Springs at 1:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Cold Springs Hall on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 1:45pm. All family and friends are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Edβs House Northumberland Hospice or Pioneer Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
