The family announces with heavy hearts the passing of Richard Fournier on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Timmins and District Hospital with his daughters by his side.
Richard is now reunited with the love of his life Elise Fournier (nee Simard). Richard loved spending time with his grandchildren, working in his garage, listening to country music and spending time at the cottage. He was a selfless man. He didn’t need much but would give all he had to those he loved.
He will forever be remembered by his two daughters Kim (Paul) Haapakoski and Rachelle (Martin) Lefebvre, his grandchildren Devin (Lianne) Haapakoski, Amy Haapakoski, Curtis (Isabelle) Lefebvre, and Ricky Lefebvre (Laura Talon), as well as by his great-grandchildren Hunter and Liam Perry and Oliver Haapakoski. He leaves behind his sister Helene (Daniel) Vieno, his brother Gilles (Louise) Fournier, his sisters-in-law Aline Sabourin (late Denis), Jeannine Guillemette (Jean-Come), Paulette Perry (Bert) and his brother-in-law John Phillips. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Richard is predeceased by his parents Jeanne and George Henrie Fournier, his mother and father-in-law Eugene and Germaine Simard and his sister-in-law Annette Phillips.
A huge thank you to the Willow Avenue crew for loving him as their family. A special thank you to Dr. Miron, Dr. Ditullio and the TDH-Hospice Department for the amazing care and compassion shown to Richard and the family during his time there.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Lessard Funeral Home. A reception will follow at 4 pm in the Lessard Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital-Hospice Department would be greatly appreciated.
