NABIGON, Christopher – Passed away peacefully at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Center on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 63 years.
Beloved husband of Susan for 43 years. Loving father of Christopher Jr. (Sharon) and Kyle. Proud grandfather of Lesley and Logan. Son of the late Ruby and Camille Nabigon. Dear brother of Stan (Alice), Darcy, Delphine (Gaetan), and the late Edward (late Darlene), Alvina (late Arnold), Wilfred (Catherine), Imelda (late Gunther), Adele, and Dorothy.
Son-in-law of the late Nancy and Basil Desmoulin. Brother-in-law of Jennifer (Clyde), Carol (Keith), Donalda (Michel), May Ann (Thomas), Barry (Sandra), and Amanda. Chris will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
He was deeply devoted to his grandchildren and known as the ultimate Boston Bruins fan. From 1983 to 2012, he poured his heart into supporting his sons’ love of hockey, co-founding and organizing a youth hockey team that regularly competed in the Lil NHL hockey tournaments. A crowning moment for him was leading his team to a B Division championship in 2006.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Biitigong Nishnaabeg First Nation, on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Jerome Nnanna officiating. A wake service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
