McCULLOUGH, Gayle McCullough (née Hoare)

December 12, 1947 – June 3, 2025

Smiling woman in a white shirt indoors

It is with deep sadness that we announce Gayle McCullough (née Hoare) passed away on June 3rd, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Gayle’s legacy lives on and continues to inspire her dedicated husband, Grant, her beloved children, Tracey (Jeff) and Rob (Christa), and her four cherished grandchildren—Katie, Alyssa, Mikaela, and Ryder—who were her pride and joy and the centre of her world. Her kind-heartedness and unshakable positivity will endure and guide them.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Allan (Joanne), Donna (Elio), Norm (Rosanne), Mary (Bill), and Rick (Mira), and predeceased by Shirley and John. Gayle is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were very special to her.

Gayle was a beautiful soul, both inside and out—she possessed a rare gift: the ability to see the best in others. Her friendly smile, unwavering compassion, and quiet strength were felt instantly.

She loved bringing her family together. Whether for a holiday, a celebration, or a simple meal, she found true happiness in those moments of connection and love. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and belonging.

Gayle faced life’s many challenges with resilience and grace, sharing her strength during difficult moments. Her spirit will live on in the memories we hold, the stories we tell, and the love we continue to share.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date to honour her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gillian’s Place (Providing Safe Refuge and Support) or Lung Cancer Canada in her name.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Basic Funerals.
