Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bluewater Health, Louise Rhyno passed away at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Floyd Rhyno (2008). Loving mother of Nancy Rhyno (Karsten Hansen), Julie Rhyno, and Steven Rhyno.
Treasured sister of Gilbert Leroux and Eddy Leroux. Predeceased by her parents Damien and Marie-Anne Leroux and siblings Irene, Raynald, Georgette, Murielle, Roland, Colette, Monique, Andrea, Andrea (Dede), Conrad, Susanne, and Pierre.
Louise met her husband at a dam worksite in La Tuque and later married, building a family life in Montreal and eventually settling in Sarnia in 1974. She was a long-time member of the Sarnia Newcomers group and a founding member of a cherished Gourmet group of friends for over 35 years.
Known for her love of the “3 B’s – Bridge, Books, and Bingo,” Louise also enjoyed sharing stories about her favourite job as a 16-year-old switchboard operator. Her sense of humour and love for connection touched everyone around her.
Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer Society or Diabetic Society (cheques only at the funeral home, please).
