It is with great sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Marcus de Jong, on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Kimberly Prentice-de Jong. Devoted father of his fur babies, Cooper, Felix and Chloe. Loving son of Pieter and Alneida de Jong. Dear brother of Monique (Paul) and Frank (Ashley) and brother-in-law of Douglas (Patricia), Brian (d.), Bill Prentice, Debra (Rick), Loran (Nancy), Darlene (d.) and Jacqueline (d.). Proud uncle of many nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by his friends and neighbours. Marcus retired after 40 years of service as an electrician and was a proud member of the IBEW Local 353. As per Marcus’ wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at Mount Lawn Cemetery in Whitby, ON, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be much appreciated.
