Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital with his loving family by his side on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the age of 94.

Beloved husband of 70 years to Margaret. Loving father of Mary Jane deceased, Stephen (Rose), Shelagh (Paul), Susan (Frank) and Paul (Jennifer). Cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Troy), Jennifer (Dashan), Tyson, Liam, Heather (Tom), Colin, Emma, Hannah, Maggie and great grandfather of Tommy, Ann-Marie, Hunter, Harlow, Sophie & Lucy. Dear brother of Margo (Dougie) deceased, Penny (Arthur) deceased and survived by his sisters Johanne & May, residing in England.

Thomas Hendrie was born to Tom & Mary Hendrie in Edinburgh, Scotland. Tom & Margaret immigrated from Scotland to Sault Ste. Marie with their family of 5 children in 1966. He became the Chief Lab Technologist at the Plummer Hospital.

Tom was a talented entertainer, joke teller and an accomplished pianist. He told stories through his music and his love of photography. Tom delighted audiences with his theatrical, comedic & singing skills in many productions with the Sault Theatre Workshop, Musical Comedy Guild and Sault Opera Society. He spent many years as a pianist taking song requests & playing the classics from memory.

He spent his last four years at Rapelje Lodge, still playing the piano.

Family and friends will be received at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Thursday, May 28th from 6 – 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Alexander Catholic Church, 50 Pelham Town Square on Friday, May 29th at 11:00 a.m., cremation will follow.
