Lorraine Madeline Smith (née DeGroote) passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Stedman Community Hospice on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the age of 67.
Loving wife of Harley. Cherished mother of Renee (Derek) and Carson (Bri). Treasured grandmother of Kylie, Baisha, Siobhan, Shae, Raven, Keira, Sonya, Carson Jr., and Andrew, and great-grandmother of Maverick and Jameson.
Beloved sister of Christine (Frank), David (Jenna), and Dennis. Predeceased by her parents Roger and Rachel DeGroote. Lorraine will be dearly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Heartfelt thanks to the caring staff and volunteers at both the Stedman Community Hospice and the Oncology Unit of the B.G.H. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private Memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X Parish, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Stedman Community Hospice or a charity of your choice.
