James “Jim” Harold passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on May 5, 2025, at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Born on December 16, 1944, in Toronto, Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A natural leader and self-starter, Jim was an entrepreneur who built and ran his own successful lift truck service business.

Beyond his professional life, Jim had a deep love of music. A skilled guitarist and charismatic front man, he performed in several bands over the course of his life, bringing joy to countless gatherings with his talent, energy, and stage presence. He also enjoyed nurturing his own vegetable garden for many years, taking pride in growing fresh produce and spending time outdoors. A lifelong lover of animals, Jim always had a dog or cat by his side and treated them like family.

Jim will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and ability to fix just about anything — always ready with a solution or a story, often both.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hope; his daughters, Victoria and Ashley; his siblings Darlene (Tom), Bill (Lynda), Donna (Gil), Mike (Donnell), and Pat (Sue), his grandson Tyler (Sydne) and great-grandson Owyn. He is predeceased by his brother Paul (Patti) and his parents, Dorothy and Harley.

A visitation will be held on Monday May 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM at the Mangan Funeral Home in Beaverton. An interment will follow at Stone Church Cemetery. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Jim’s life.

Donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Jim’s memory
