CAMERON: George Alan “Al” A longtime fixture along the beaches of Lake Simcoe and the streets of Beaverton for over 80 years, Alan Cameron, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 30, 2025 after a long struggle with dementia. Predeceased by partner Marie Lepage. Al is the son of Duncan and Barbara Cameron (nee Lane), brother to Art Cameron and Joyce Hissa (nee Cameron). Al is survived by twin sister Virginia Wilson (nee Cameron), and a wide extended family.

Many will know Al who proudly kept the lawns and hedges of lakefront homes meticulously groomed until selling the business to Rick Cameron in 2012. Cared for by extended family throughout his final years, Al was a daily fixture at Beaverton’s Shortis Bakery, who will no doubt notice a dramatic plummet in sales of cinnamon buns with his passing. Residents and shopkeepers of Beaverton will surely miss Al’s daily visits to chat for a moment as he made his rounds about town.

A graveside service will be held at the Old Stone Church Cemetery on Monday June 9th at 11 a.m. Online condolences are welcome at www.manganfuneralhome.com
