It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lorice on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Lorice shared her life with her loving husband and best friend, Les. They were looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on September 17, 2026. For over 60 years, they supported one another with kindness, love and patience. Lorice was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother.
Lorice Stone will be deeply missed by her children, Mark, Andrea and Carolyn and their spouses/partners Suzette, David and Melissa.
Cherished grandmother of Michael, Andrew, Caleb, Maria, Jacob, Betty and Ruth.
And Lorice was loved by her many brothers and sisters, their partners and her many nieces and nephews.
Her greatest joy was her family, and she devoted her life to those she loved. Her greatest legacy is not measured in things she accomplished, but in the love she gave and the lives she shaped. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and memories that will remain with us forever.
The family would like to thank the nurses and PSW’s of Northumberland Hills Hospital and in particular, thank you for the kindness and support of Dr. Mulé.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Lorice’s life on Friday, September 4th commencing at 12 noon at MacCoubrey Funeral Home Ltd (30 King Street East, Cobourg), followed by a reception and interment in the Heritage Cemetery of St. Peter, Cobourg.
She was a caring and generous soul who was always ready to offer comfort, encouragement, and support to those around her. Lorice had a particular fondness for charities that cared for children and animals. In Lorice’s honour, we ask that donations be made to Rebound Child and Youth Services or the Northumberland Humane Society, in lieu of flowers.
“You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.”
