Peter Gerard Carney

Peacefully passed away in his sleep at his home in Tottenham on August 31, 2026, after a brief illness. Peter Gerard Carney at the age of 71 years, beloved husband of “Wilma” Wilhelmina Carney (nee: Rutten). Loving father of Sarah Ampleford (Glen), Jason Carney (Karen Vu Nguyen), and Mark Carney (Jessica). Dear Papa of Ava, Claire, Ben, Mia, Liv, Wesley, Addison, and Luke. Sadly missed brother of Dr. Phil (Peggy), Louise Rodricks (the late Neville), the late Theresa Rait (Don), Dr. Patrick, Jim (Jenny), Anne Sledz (Michael), Leonard, Edward (Charlotte), and Tom. Forever in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive relatives and guests at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477 on Friday September 4, 2026 from 5-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Church Colgan 2118 Adjala-Tecumseth Townline, Colgan on Saturday September 5, 2026 at 12pm. Interment will take place in St. James Cemetery. Reception will follow at the funeral home’s Cliffside Hall. For those who wish, donations in Peter’s memory to the Cancer Society  or Chalice  would be appreciated.
