KOCH, Adolph

Adolph Koch

Adolph Koch passed away on August 30, 2026, with his wife, Phyllis, by his side. He was 92 and had lived with dementia through a lengthy illness. Adolph and Phyllis would have marked their 64th wedding anniversary in September.

He is survived by Phyllis; his sisters, Tilly, Elizabeth, and Margaret and her husband George; and his brother, Eddy and his wife Ann. Adolph was predeceased by his sisters Annie, Addie, Holly, and Alice, and by his brothers Martin, Frank, Willy, and Michael. He will also be remembered with affection by his nieces and nephews.

Adolph spent a long career as a lineman with Winnipeg Hydro. He formed lasting friendships with coworkers and helped train many future electricians and linemen.

An enthusiastic outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gathering wild mushrooms, and picking berries. Those interests took him to family cottages at Royal Lake and Paddy Lake in Ontario and at Turtle Lake in Saskatchewan. He and Phyllis also travelled widely, taking six cruises and visiting destinations across Europe, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, Texas, California, and Africa.

The family remembers Adolph as a kind and gentle man for whom family was deeply important. They extend special thanks to the nurses, care aides, and staff at Kamloops Seniors Village, as well as Dr. Wynne, for their care.
