
Passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Nancy and Henry Walden, on May 2, 1936, Lorena lived a vibrant and fulfilled life. She had a deep love for the outdoors and working with her hands, spending many joyful days cooking, gardening, camping, and fishing. She had a passion for volunteering for countless organizations in support of those in need and the community. Above all, her family was her greatest joy. Her passion, purpose and presence will be greatly missed.
Lorena was predeceased by her beloved husband, Winston Ramsankar, her granddaughter, Alana Waddell, and many other dear siblings and relatives.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her children: Charlie (Sheryl), Rosanna (Jim), Elizabeth, and Michael (Kelly). She was a cherished grandmother to Daniel (Candace), Amie (John), Brett (Taylor), and Brooke (Cale); a proud great-grandmother to Daniel, James, Brandon, Christopher, Michael, and Saige; as well as a great-great-grandmother to Kent. She is survived by her brother Daniel (Alma) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.
Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to guide and steady those who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Bear Creek Funeral Home, 11802 – 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB.
