Derrick John Powell Obituary
Derrick John Powell passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at the age of 50.
Derrick will be remembered for his big personality, loving heart, quick wit, and the energy and laughter he brought to others.
For 19 years, he served as a paramedic. Derrick was deeply proud of his career and devoted himself to helping others, touching many lives through his work.
He is survived by his partner, Nikki, and her children; his mother, Lynn; his brother, Scott, and Scott’s fiancée, Edie; and many close friends. He was predeceased by his father, Brian Powell.
Memorial Service
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, British Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to BC Cancer – Kelowna – Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior.
