Sheila Jane Stoppa Obituary
Sheila Jane Stoppa passed away on September 1, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 84.
Born on July 30, 1942, in Powell River, British Columbia, Sheila grew up on Cortes Island. She married Ersilio Giuseppe Stoppa, and together they shared 57 years of marriage and raised four daughters.
Sheila was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. For more than 25 years, she volunteered at the Stewart Farm garden, and she was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League for more than 35 years. She also loved the beach and reading.
Sheila is survived by her daughters Marina (Rick), Michele (Lawson), Melisa (Patrick), and Mandy (David); grandsons Jordan, Noah, Tyler, Matthew, Joshua, and Sam; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ersilio; her parents; and her two brothers.
Funeral Service
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser Highway, Langley, British Columbia. The Rosary and viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow.
Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Gardens of Gethsemani, 15694 32 Avenue, Surrey, British Columbia.
