Passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in her 83rd year.
Beloved wife of the late Giacomo. Loving mother of Paul Gabe, and Raymond (Adele). Cherished Nana of Lisa Marie (Josh), Jamie, Daniel, and Kai and Great-Nana of Christopher and Roman.
Predeceased by her siblings Antonia (Sal), Carmelo (Rosa), Fred (Mary), Lidia (Bettino), and Giuseppina and survived by her brother-in-law John. Maria will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.
Maria Scimone will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother who took great pride in caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. She loved to cook and found great joy in preparing delicious meals for those she loved. However, her true joy was when she had her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around, they brought her so much happiness, joy, laughter, and love.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
