A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at Marigold Hospice Care on September 8, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Michelle Lavigne was born in Greenfield Park, Quebec, on October 29, 1970, to Heather O’Reilly and the late Michael O’Reilly. Although her journey began in Quebec, Michelle spent the remainder of her life in Ontario, where she built a beautiful life filled with family, friendships, and countless cherished memories.
Michelle will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her devoted husband, Kevin Lavigne; her two beautiful daughters, Laura McDermott (Lucas) and Nathalie Evans (Braeden); her brother, Andrew O’Reilly (Karen); her brother-in-law, Steven Lavigne (Krystle Smith); and her six loving nieces and nephews, Liam O’Reilly, Cameron O’Reilly, Tyler O’Reilly, Reece Nauss, Leslie Lavigne, and Claire Lavigne.
She will also be dearly missed by her extended family, relatives, colleagues, and the many friends whose lives she touched throughout the years.
Michelle was a dedicated employee of the City of Oshawa, where she spent many years contributing to the community.
Above all, Michelle treasured her family and friends. Her greatest joy was creating memories and spending time with the people she loved. She especially cherished time spent in New Brunswick, as well as travelling and discovering new places around the world.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of their friends and family for their love, kindness, and unwavering support during this difficult time. A special thank you is also extended to the compassionate staff and caregivers at Marigold Hospice Care for the care, comfort, and dignity they provided to Michelle and her family.
Michelle leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
