Salvatore Palazzolo
August 31, 1941 – March 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the Palazzolo family announces the passing of Salvatore, at the age of 83, on March 28, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved husband to Angelina. Loving father of John (Sheri) and Francis (Debbie). Cherished, proud, and much adored Nonno to Christopher and Natalie (Noah). Predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Maria, parents-in-law Frank and Maria Ignazzitto, caring sister Placida (Giuseppe), and devoted brothers Frank (Susan) and Joe.
Salvatore will be dearly missed by his siblings Antonio (Giuseppina), Biagio (Jeannette), Lina (Pasquale), Angelo (Marion), Maria Jeanne (the late Vance), and Elizabeth (Tony), his numerous nieces and nephews, family, neighbours, and friends.
Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital, where Salvatore was a patient for over 13 years. We appreciate their compassion, care, and kindness. Thanks also to the doctors and nurses from Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their support.
Salvatore taught in the Durham District School Board for 46 years.
Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Salvatore may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the hospital that gave him hope and he cherished all they did for him.
