COHEN, Herbert ‘Herb’ – Passed away peacefully at home, in the comfort of his family, on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 47 years to Lil (nee Swaffield) and cherished father of Steve (Joe Carlino) Cohen, Ian (Sharon) Cohen. Loving ‘Bop’ of Kim (Alex), Stephanie and great-grandfather of Casey. He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Karen Swaffield (Tim); former spouse and mother of his sons, Suzanne; many friends and extended family; as well as his grandpup ‘Torch’. Predeceased by his parents Irving and Bella (nee Rosen), sister Pearl Diamond. Herb was a successful businessman and had a strong drive to succeed. He instilled in his sons the strength in independence. Herb was proud of his roots in Brooklyn, New York and always recognized the importance of family. He retired from his career early in order to spend time with his family, and travelled extensively with Lil. Friends are invited to a Funeral Service in celebration of Herb’s life to be held at the MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Sunday August 16, 2026 at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. In memory of Herb, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region or B'nai Brith Canada, and would be appreciated.
