Douglas John “Bud” Thompson passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the age of 91.
Doug was a beloved husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed.
He was the loving husband of Roberta (née Brotherstone) and cherished father of Heather Thompson and Bill Thompson.
Doug was the youngest and last surviving child of Will and Mima Thompson.
Predeceased by his sisters Marjorie Ferguson (Russell), Dora Veals (Ivan), Hazel Vansickle (Percy),
and his brothers Albert “Bert” (Margaret), Ernie (Vivian), Arnold (Monica), and brother-in-law Fred White.

66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held at Peterborough Free Methodist Church,
450 Lansdowne Street East, Peterborough, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Daniel Graham.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
Interment will take place at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Warsaw, in the spring.
