In Loving Memory
LaToya Leigh De Jonge, beloved daughter, sister, mother, cousin, and auntie, passed away suddenly on February 3, 2025, her 38th birthday. Born in Little Burgundy, Quebec, on February 3, 1987, to Sharon De Jonge and Jafari De Jonge, LaToya touched the lives of many with her vibrant personality and deep love for her family.
As a devoted mother, LaToya leaves behind her cherished 14-year-old daughter, Na’ima Pendleton (and her father, Marvin Pendleton), whose life she shaped with love and devotion. She will be remembered by her partner, Thulani Gumbs, who brought her such joy. She was the beloved sister of Gyasi De Jonge, Kashiff Collins (Brianna), Jelani De Jonge, LaTeefah De Jonge, and Sharifa De Jonge, and was an adored auntie to Kwame, Kairo, Leo, Camrie, and Aiko, whom she held close to her heart.
LaToya’s infectious laughter and radiant spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her love, warmth, and sense of humor will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on as her family promises to keep the laughter flowing just as she would have wanted.
Rest in peace, LaToya. You will always be remembered and loved.
