Madame Rita Laflamme of L’Orignal passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Côme-Marcel Laflamme. Loving daughter of the late Angus Beaulne and the late Cordelia Miron. Cherished mother of Guy (Diane), Odette, Monique (Jean-Pierre Lalonde), and Josée. Adored grandmother of Justin (Francy Jimenez), Roxanne (Nicolas Lacelle), Virginie (Alexandre Denis), Stéphanie (Marc-André Levasseur), Sébastien (Fanie Normand) and great-grandmother of Janick, Léanne, Félix, Thomas, Olivier, Elliott, Vincent, and Eva.
She also leaves behind her dear friend Réjeanne Lalonde and her faithful dog Klara. Predeceased by her two brothers, Marcel and Germain Leduc (late Véronique), as well as her brothers- and sisters-in-law. Rita will be deeply missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Mélanie Lalonde, Liette Turpin, Janie Cardinal, Charlie Broomfield, Leah, Christine, Andrew, Mgr. Léo Villeneuve, and Abbé Serge Faucher for their exceptional care and support during Rita’s final days.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Salon Funéraire Familial Berthiaume, 416 McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877-632-8511). The funeral service will take place at St-Jean-Baptiste Church in L’Orignal on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive condolences starting at 12:00 pm.
In memory of Rita, donations to the Parkinson Society of Ottawa (1-200, Colonnade Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K2E 7M1) would be appreciated. Additionally, the funeral home will make a donation in memory of Rita to the local food bank.
