Balroop Sookdeo

The family of Balroop Sookdeo of Whitby, ON, beloved husband of Trisha Sookdeo, sadly announces his passing on Sunday, September 6, 2026. He was 54 years of age.

• Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14th, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. at the Barnes Memorial Funeral Home (5295 Thickson Rd. N, Whitby, ON L1M1W9).

• The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at the same location.

Balroop, known as Teddy, was born on August 31, 1972 on the island of Trinidad parents Balliram and Roselyn (nee Khadaroo). He was the oldest of three children. In Standard Village where they both lived, Balroop met and married the love of his life, Trisha. They later immigrated to Canada.

Teddy’s love for a good time, his easygoing nature, and deep faith in the Lord Jesus, attracted people from all walks of life to him. He also had an unwavering affection for dogs, and animals in general.

Balroop was pre-deceased by his grandparents on both sides, his dear father Balliram, and sister-in-law Lindsay.
Teddy leaves behind to keep his memory alive:
• His sweet wife Trisha of 23 years.
• Children Ryan, Shania his princess, Matthew and Jeremy.
• His loving mother Roselyn, and brothers Steve and Sunil (Marlene).
• Nieces and nephews: Aaron, Ameila, Jaden, Alina.
• Families Khadaroo and Ramsingh.
• Family and friends in both Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada
